Recovery-4-A-Change, 9/14/18
September 04, 2018
The third annual massive celebration honoring September as National Recovery Month will take place on Friday, September 14th, 2017, from 5 pm to dusk at the Tenth Street Entrance to Harris Riverfront Park in Huntington WV. The event is called “Recovery-4-A-Change: Minds Change, Lives Change, Families Change, Communities Change” to remind us all that we have more people living around us in recovery than we have still suffering from an addiction problem.
Activities include music featuring Acme Sound and the recovery rap artist Colicchie, hopeful stories of recovery, face painting, inflatables for the kids, meeting emergency responders with their equipment, free hot dogs and snacks, a 50/50 raffle, free t-shirts to the first several hundred people, free HIV testing with Ebenezer Medical Center, Hepatitis A immunizations with the Cabell-Huntington Health Department, fun and fellowship. A ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm where Huntington Mayor Steve Williams will proclaim September as Recovery Month. The event is free and open to all.
