Program Description
Prestera's Intensive Outpatient programs (Dynamic Choices and Successful
Living) provide services in a structured, supportive environment that helps
each person make positive changes with little disruption to his or her family,
work or social life. Intensive individual,
group, family
and couples therapy is offered to help stabilize the individual. Intensive
outpatient programs teach individuals how to monitor and manage their psychiatric
condition in order to avoid hospitalization.
Days/Hours of Operation
Dynamic Choices - Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 2:45pm
Successful Living - Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:15pm
Admission Criteria
- Consumer must be 18 years of age or older.
- Consumer is experiencing a crisis due to a mental condition and/or
impairment in functioning due to acute psychiatric signs and symptoms.
- Consumer is assessed as needing a structured, intensive intervention
because a less restrictive service is not adequate or appropriate to
resolve the current crisis or meet the consumer’s needs.
- Consumer is in need of an intensive treatment intervention to prevent
hospitalization
- The consumer’s potential danger to self or others is not at
a level to require hospitalization and the consumer commits to safety.
- Consumer is in need of medication monitoring to make medication adjustments
or changes to reach optimum therapeutic effect.
- Consumer has access to existing sources of support
- Any substance abuse problems must be secondary to mental health issues.
- Consumer must have no cognitive impairments that would impede them
from participating in the treatment milieu.
