Program Description
Prestera's residential programs offer a variety of levels of care for adults.
The residential programs are long-term (around six months, based on progress
and continuing need) intensive residential addictions treatment programs
designed to meet the needs of each individual. Services provided include
family therapy, individual
therapy, group therapy, supportive
intervention, psychiatric evaluation
and psychiatric treatment and case
management.
Conveniently located throughout the Huntington/Charleston areas, Prestera’s
addictions services offer consumers 24-hour, state-of-the-art recovery
services for men and women. In addition to being CARF accredited, these
programs are also licensed and partially funded by the Bureau of Behavioral
Health and Health Facilities for the state of West Virginia.

Seven days per week, 24 hours per day
Admission Criteria
These criteria have been generalized to reflect the most common requirements
for residential services. Each program has additional and/or varying admission
critera.
- The client is an alcohol or other drug dependent or abusing adult
(age 18 or older) in need of residential treatment
- DSM-IV-TR diagnosis of substance dependence
- No present risk of withdrawal
- Less restrictive environment has been deemed not appropriate
- Symptoms warrant high intensity intervention (attempts to maintain
sobriety after completing short term treatment have failed in the past)
Targeted Length of Stay
These programs can be completed in approximately six months, but may last
up to twelve depending on a client's treatment needs and overall progress.
