Program Description

PARC PI Shelters are an organized service provided to all populations and are delivered by appropriately trained staff who provide 24-hour supervision, observation and support for patients who are intoxicated or experiencing withdrawal. This program provides care for clients whose intoxication/withdrawal signs and symptoms are sufficiently severe to require 24-hour structure and support. The full resources of a medically- monitored inpatient detoxification service are not required.

Days/Hours of Operation

Seven days per week, 24-hours per day.

Admission Criteria

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Intoxicated or in withdrawal.
  • Patient is not at risk for severe and moderate withdrawal can be safely managed at this level of care.
  • Assessed as not requiring medication.
  • Public intoxicated and picked up by the police and placed at the shelter.
  • Voluntary admission to the shelter.
