Description of Program

The West Virginia DUI Safety and Treatment Program is offered in conjunction with the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles. The program consists of education, intervention and treatment components. Each individual is required, at a minimum, to complete eighteen hours of education held over a six-week period. Abstinence is monitored throughout the program through random breathalyzes and urine drug screens. Individuals who are required to complete the intervention component may do so in conjunction with education. Individuals who are referred to treatment and successfully completed treatment goals prior to participation in the education component. Successful completion of the program is mandatory for reinstatement of drivers license.

Admission Criteria

The DUI Safety and Treatment Program is open to individuals who have lost their driving privileges due to a charge of driving under the influence.
